At the core of all of Connected DMV's work is the idea that Greater Washington is better when it works together, across jurisdictional boundaries and sectors, to achieve economic renewal and social equity in the region. At the center of that work are three regional collaborations that serve as the backbone of Connected DMV's strategy for impact: the DMV Regional Congress, the We Are Greater Washington joint funding program office, and our Regional Economic Development Strategy (REDS).
REDS works on key strategies, recommendations, and initiatives to make pogress towards equitable economic development in the region. In 2021, we released the REDS Report, and it made several recommendations in pursuit of that lager mission — one of them was to launch a cohesive regional brand for business investment and relocation. For the last year, for the first time in many years, a group of economic development organizations and destination marketing organizations from across the region have been collaborating on a joint marketing pilot effort, Greater Washington: Build Here. It was launched at the end of November at Quantum World Congress.
