OUR HISTORY
MARCH 2019
Public, private, academic, and community organizations form a collaboration to develop a “smart region” strategy to drive socially responsible economic growth in Greater Washington.
JUNE 2019
400 volunteers from 200 organizations in the DMV formed Solution Groups to engage the community and inform the strategy.
OCTOBER 2019
The “Connected DMV” brand is publicly launched.
APRIL 2020
IRS approves Connected DMV as an independent, charitable 501(c)(3) organization to create and deliver regional initiatives.
MAY - OCTOBER 2020
Connected DMV launches the COVID-19 Strategic Renewal Task Force which convenes monthly to approve 12 region-wide initiatives that address economic renewal and social equity in response to the pandemic.
OCTOBER 2020
Connected DMV launches an expanded Board of Trustees, comprising eight senior executive leaders from DMV regional organizations, six independent trustees, the President of Connected DMV, and a non-voting liaison from the Department of Defense.
