Quantum World Congress Returns: September 22–24, 2026 at College Park, Maryland
After debuting in Washington, D.C. and three groundbreaking years in Tysons, Quantum World Congress takes its next step forward — convening the global quantum ecosystem in College Park at The Hotel at the University of Maryland and the University of Maryland’s campus on September 22–24, 2026.
Connected DMV today announced that Quantum World Congress (QWC) 2026 will take place September 22–24, 2026, with programming anchored at The Hotel at the University of Maryland and across the University of Maryland’s campus in College Park.
After debuting in Washington, D.C., and three groundbreaking years in Tysons, Virginia, the move to College Park marks the next step in showcasing Greater Washington’s evolution as a global hub for quantum research, commercialization, and collaboration.
The region’s momentum is accelerating. Microsoft recently announced the opening of a new quantum research center in College Park’s Discovery District, as shared by Maryland Governor Wes Moore during QWC 2025. In addition, DARPA has partnered with Maryland to establish the Capital Quantum Benchmarking Hub, an initiative to validate and standardize quantum systems for both national security and commercial applications.
Anchored by the University of Maryland’s Joint Quantum Institute (JQI), Joint Center for Quantum Information and Computer Science (QuICS), and Quantum Technology Center (QTC), QWC 2026 will leverage this thriving environment to focus on what the field needs most: talent development, workforce readiness, entrepreneurship, investment access, and applied innovation.
“College Park is a global center for quantum commercialization. Maryland built the policy environment, investment and partnerships to make it happen. And the Greater Washington region now represents the world's most dynamic quantum ecosystem, defining what comes next,” said George Thomas, President and CEO of Connected DMV. “We look forward to welcoming the world's quantum leaders back to do more of what matters most — closing deals, forging partnerships, and turning innovation into commerce.”
Quantum World Congress 2026 will convene global leaders in science, industry, and government for three days of keynotes, startup showcases, and cross-sector collaboration.
